Home/Insights/Intellectual Property (Protection and Enforcement)/A Messi Situation: Branding Clash with Prime Hydration

Lionel Messi’s hydration brand, MÁS+, is now facing a counter suit from Prime Hydration, co-founded by social media personalities Logan Paul and KSI. Prime alleges that MÁS+ infringes on its trade dress.

Prime claims that MÁS+ copies various elements of its packaging such as its vibrant colors, vertical logos, and health-themed slogans, potentially causing and leading to consumer confusion. Mark Anthony International, the distributor which owns MÁS+ is seeking declaratory relief that there is no such infringement.

This case highlights how visual branding can raise significant IP issues, especially in competitive industries like beverages.
